Free Audio Extractor Editor's Review

Did you ever enjoy a dialog in a movie so much that you'd listen to it forever? How about being able to do this without opening the movie and skipping to your favorite part?

Free Audio Extractor is developed exactly with this purpose: to save audio from video files. Audio tracks can be saved in MP3, WAV, OGG and FLAC file formats. For each file type, you can select your favorite settings in order to get the best quality for the saved track: you can select bitrate, channel, VBR quality or frequency.

Using this program is quite easy: once you've installed it, you can start extracting audio from video files right away. Just add the files you wish to extract audio from, select your output file type and start extracting. The good news is that the program supports batch file processing. Every file loaded can be played using the in-built audio player.

Pluses: You can select to extract only your favorite part from your video: for this, you can use the time line feature of the program and set a start and end point for your extracted file.

Drawbacks / flaws: The fact that there's no option for extracting files to MPG format is a major drawback, in may opinion, since this is indeed a very popular audio format.

In conclusion: Despite its drawback, the program did a very good job extracting sound from my favorite videos. Add to this the fact that it's free and there's always room for improvement, this app is definitely worth giving a try.
